流氷が去った後の根室海峡には、魚の大群を追ってシャチの家族やナガスクジラ、ハシボソミズナギドリがやってきます。　タンチョウの子育ての観察撮影にも最適な季節です。

After the season of sea-ice,Orca, Fine Whales and large number of Short-tailed Shearwaters come up to Nemuro Strait. This is also very nice for photography of breeding Red-Crested Crane.

カラフトマスが海岸に集まり、川を遡上し始める８月中旬、ヒグマたちが頻繁に海岸に現れるようになります。　小船からヒグマを撮影する最高の季節です。　羅臼沖ではマッコウクジラのオスの群れが高い確率で見られるようになります。　シマフクロウはヒナが大きく育ち、川に姿を見せる頃です。
根室の北方針葉樹林では苔の林床がゴゼンタチバナやコケモモの赤い実で美しく彩られます。　

By mid. Aug. Pink Salmon congregate in each bay of Shiretoko, and some of them begin to rise rivers. This is the time that Brown Bears mostly stay on seashore and we have great opportunities of photography from a small boat. Chocks of Blackiston’s Fish-Owl grow big enough to come down to rivers.
In boreal forest of Nemuro, large number red berries of bunchberry and cranberry decorate the green moss.

オオハクチョウの群れが湖に帰り、草原では繁殖期を迎えたエゾシカの鳴き声が響き渡る。　秋は、シマフクロウの観察撮影に最も適した季節です。　オス、メスとヒナが揃って川に現れ、長い時間、観察撮影することができます。道東の秋は、好天が続く暖かくやさしい季節。　雪が降るのは根室では１２月中旬、羅臼では１１月下旬です。
Flock of swans come back to lakes. Ratting call of Ezo Deer resound meadow. Autumn is also the best season for photography/observation of Fish-Owl. Male, female and chicks of owl come up to river together. The autumn of Nemuro Area is warm and sunny season. The first snow come quite late. It is mid Dec. in Nemuro and late Nov. in Rausu .

1月中旬、風蓮湖が凍結するとオオワシの観察撮影シーズンが始まります。タンチョウのほとんどが釧路の給餌場に移動し、オオハクチョウの一部が屈斜路湖に残ります。　羅臼に流氷がやって来るのは２月後半と３月上旬の数週間です。
The season of Steller’s Sea-Eagle begins in mid Jan, when Lake Furen freeze. Most of Red-Crested Crane go to the feeding station of Kushiro. Some swans stay in Lake Kussharo. Sea ice come to Rausu on mid or late Feb. and stay only a few weeks.
