根室地方では、内陸部の状態の良い森林で見られる。　沿岸部では少ない。

比較的人間を気にしない都市公園やキャンプ場などに生息する個体が観察撮影しやすい。
Urban parks and campgrounds are one of good place to find them. They are generally not very nervous to human in these places.

エゾリスの早い動きを追いながら素早く背景を選ぶことができるズームレンズによる手持ち撮影が主体となる。　400-600mm 程度のレンズが適している。
Handheld telephoto lens has certain advantage as you can choose the backgrouｎd quickly following the rapid movement of them. Telephoto lens of 400-600mm would be useful in most case.
